Our Earl Grey is a quintessentially English brew, perfect for those seeking an elegant, sophisticated cuppa. Soothing yet uplifting, it is one of our customers' highest-rated teas.
To create this distinctive blend, our Tea Masters balance teas from East Africa and India. We use a high proportion of quality Kenyan leaves to give the brew its lively, brisk flavour. This is complemented with a touch of exotic citrus from our exclusive bergamot flavouring. The larger leaves used in our loose leaf Earl Grey result in a more refined flavour, perfect for the discerning tea-lover.
The tea in each caddy is foil-wrapped for freshness, ensuring you the perfect cuppa every time. Our Earl Grey’s bold yet elegant flavours are easy to appreciate throughout the day. Simply add a slice of lemon for a fragrant, aromatic infusion, or enjoy with a splash of milk.
Earl Grey tea was named in honour of 19th Century British Prime Minister Charles Grey. It’s believed Grey received a gift of tea from China that was flavoured with bergamot oil. The distinctive blend became so popular that he asked British tea merchants to recreate it. It's been a firm favourite around the world ever since. We think our version makes a fine tribute, presented in a charming metal tea caddy decorated with Thomas Picken's 'The New Houses of Parliament'.

Each and every morning, my favourite cup of tea would be English Breakfast. It’s strong, it’s coloury, it’s got a wonderful nutty flavour that I really do enjoy, and it takes the milk well.
William Manning, Senior Tea TasterIn the UK Head Office we taste over 500 cups of tea every day, to search for the best quality teas available from around the world.
Dominic Marriot, Tea TasterLater on in the afternoon I might try something like a Darjeeling that has the muscatel flavour, or maybe even a high-grown Ceylon, but definitely my favourite brew, and the one that I drink the most of, is English Breakfast.
